Resident Programs

The OHA Department of Resident Services Department is here to serve the residents of the Opelika Housing Authority. We provide various programs, services, and special events for the youth, adult, and senior residents of the Opelika Housing Authority. We keep residents informed of policies and regulations affecting them as public housing residents. We also act as advocates for you, ensuring that your problems and concerns are addressed. We encourage you to take advantage of all the activities the Resident Services Department offers. You are welcome to come by or call us with information that will help us to make Opelika Housing Authority a better place to live.

GOODWILL CAREER CENTER:
The Opelika Goodwill Career Center located at 3740 Pepperell Parkway will reopen on May 4, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. If you are in need of employment please check them out. Due to COVID-19 they have several new guidelines in place.

They will continue to have their hot job board for job openings and beginning in June or July they will start having one employer job fairs. For more information please contact them at 334-275-4815

Due to the IRS changing the tax deadline from April 15, 2020 to July 15, 2020, VITA Tax Service is being provided free of charge to the public.

Alabama JobLink is changing to ALABAMAWORKS:
The Alabama Department of Labor is replacing Alabama Job Link with AlabamaWorks.alabama.gov, this free online job database is replacing Alabama JobLink. There will also be a mobile application that will allow account management from any mobile advice. For all existing JobLink registrant's (employers and job seekers):

• Usernames remain the same
• You will receive an email with a default password
• Passwords will have to be reset
• If you have any questions email Help Desk @ AlabamaWorks.Alabama.gov
